A special word of welcome to the children, parents/guardians, and their families who will be preparing for and receiving the sacraments this year. It is an especially meaningful time for your families and the Parish. Carol McCabe, Sacramental coordinator along with Fr. Michael and Fr. Martin wish to assure you of their support as you guide your child through this important milestone in their faith journey.
The Sacraments affirms and deepens what you began at Baptism. It also reminds us that growing in faith is a lifelong journey. Preparing for your child’s Sacrament is an exciting time, and thankfully, it’s not a journey you make alone. It is a new and deepening connection between your home, your child’s school, and the parish. Each one has a valuable and supportive role to play in this important preparation.
With your continued example and support, your child will grow into someone who carries the spirit of Christ into the world. We hope this moment in your child’s life will become a milestone that continues to shape them as they grow.

INVITATION TO PRESENT YOUR CHILD FOR THE SCARAMENTS
We warmly invite you to take up this opportunity to present your child for the Sacraments. To proceed, please complete the form that has been shared with you by your child’s school.
FOR FIRST HOLY COMMUNION AND RECONCILIATION
We ask that you fill in this form online no later than Monday 29th September 2025. We will also need a COPY of your child’s Baptism Cert to be given in to the school before Friday October 3rd 2025. alternatively you can scan a copy to sacraments@rathfarnhamparish.com before this date.
If your Child will not participate in the Sacraments, we still ask that you fill out the form so we can assess the numbers that will be present at the preparation meeting.
In supporting you in your role as parent / guardian preparing your child for the Sacraments there will be an initial preparation meeting held in the Church on Tuesday evening October 7th at 8pm for both parish schools.

At this meeting we will also be looking for volunteers to put their names forward to help with the preparation for the You Shall Be My Witness Meetings. This will involve attending a training meeting in the Parish Centre before the You Shall Be My Witness Meetings begin in January 2026.
