Yesterday, Pentecost Sunday, we had the joy as a parish of presenting Trócaire with our cheque for €28,482 towards the provision of a Sanatorium in the Luuq region of Somalia. A very sincere thank you to all who have contributed to this life-saving and life-enhancing project. Canon Martin Cosgrove acknowledged the great generosity of the Rathfarnham Parishioners not only towards this project but towards the many appeals for support over the period of the pandemic. He says that he believes that it is good for a parish to reach out beyond itself particularly to a community in very much greater need. We cannot change the whole world for the better but we can make a real difference for the better in at least part of it. That is what this Trócaire project headed by Dubliner Paul Healy is all about.
