Following the sale of the Presbytery houses on Willbrook Road the Parish purchased new houses for Fr Martin and Fr Michael, the Parish wishes to invite tenders for a gardener with responsibility for maintaining the Church and Parish
Centre grounds in addition to maintaining the gardens attached to the new houses
Key responsibilities
Grounds Upkeep: On weekly basis ensure the church and parish centre grounds and pathways are cleared of falling cones, leaves, weeds and other waste items
Plant Care: Planting, transplanting, watering and feeding flowers, trees, shrubs and hedges. using native species and composting organic waste where possible in accordance with pollinator friendly guidelines
Seasonal Tasks: Preparing gardens for changing seasons including planting annuals etc
New houses: Maintain the gardens attached to the new houses, acquired for our priests, in 37 Rathfarnham Wood and 28 Stonepark Abbey respectively
Other Tasks: as agreed between the parties
The successful candidate would be expected to input into the rejuvenation of the church and parish centre grounds in a sustainable manner in accordance with aims of Laudato Si (Encyclical letter of Holy Father).
In addition, the successful candidate would be expected to liaise with the local Tidy Towns committee who are involved in improving the sustainability and pollinator friendly status of the grounds. Tenders for the role should be addressed to Fr Martin Cosgrove, Parish Centre
Willbrook Road, and should identify relevant experience and proposed costs to perform the role.
Interested parties can visit the grounds prior to tender submissions and this can be arranged through the parish office
