Description of Maintenance Ministry Activity

The primary objectives of this new committee, under the stewardship of the Rathfarnham Parish Finance Committee, is to:

1. Develop and maintain a live register of emergency contacts, contractors and related disciplines involved or required to service elements of the properties as/when required;
2. Ensure a fair, transparent and value for money system is in place for the selection of trades/contractors involved in parish works;
3. Develop a short-medium-term strategy for a planned maintenance programme for these properties;
4. Examine a longer term strategy regarding the properties in terms of capital investment milestones (such as major projects or additions to be considered).

Time Commitment

Meetings are held initially every 4-5 weeks (circa each month) with some property visits and follows up required in between meetings as required.

Whilst the new Maintenance Ministry has an adequate number of members at the moment to carry out its responsibilities, we would very much welcome adding new members to our team.

No need for any previous experience in this area as full training is provided.

Previous related experience in this area would be welcome however if you have the passion and time to help us mind the church and parish centre, you would be very welcome.
