New Ministry in our Parish
As is the policy of the Archdiocese of Dublin our parish Funeral Ministry Team consists of religious, lay men and women who share the responsibility for planning and implementation of the comforting rituals that the Church has to offer the bereaved with our priests and deacons.
We believe the death of a member of our parish community is the death of a member of Christ’s body and as a Christian family we feel called to minister to those who have suffered the loss of a loved one.
Our Funeral team express their support in assistance with practical tasks; with preparation for and celebration of the Funeral Rites in a discreet manner.
Roles associated with Funeral teams are: Hospitality, Music Ministry, Minister of the Word, Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist, persons to carry the processional Cross, thurible, Book of the Gospels and leading the rosary and prayer.
If you would like to join our Funeral Ministry team please contact the coordinators Jim McGuirk or Isabelle McCann through the parish office 01 495 8695 or email parishoffice@rathfarnhamparish.com
All members of the team receive an initial training programme, ongoing training and support.
