Description of Community Friendship Ministry Activity
The Community Friendship Group was initiated by people within the parish a number of years ago. The aim of the group is to visit people who are housebound, living alone or someone who might enjoy meeting a new friend for a chat. The aim is to match the volunteer visitor with similar hobbies and interests to the person to be visited.
Training
All visitors receive initial training and are asked to attend two support and information meetings a year.
Time Commitment
Each visit is usually for one hour every week in the daytime suitable to both parties.
Wish to volunteer for this Ministry?
If you wish to be a visitor, you need to be over eighteen years of age and complete a Garda Clearance form.
