Description of Altar Society Activity

The Altar Society is dedicated to the decoration of the church and altar space with flowers keeping in mind the time of year and the church calendar. They create a sense of warm welcome and enhance the liturgical environment.

They also assist Brides with their choice of flowers for their wedding and the arrangement of these flowers in the church. The group work in teams and each team is responsible for certain months of the year.

Time Commitment

The team meets on a Friday morning in the sacristy when fresh flowers are arranged for the altar and the shrines. The flower arrangements are watered a few times during the week.
